AFDP Board

AFDP has a Board of Directors chaired by HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein.

Chairman and Founder

HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein is the FIFA Vice President representing Asia and a member of the Executive Committees of the international governing body of football, FIFA, and of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

His Royal Highness chairs the Social Responsibility Committees in both FIFA and the AFC and is also Deputy Chair of the Development Committees in both FIFA and the AFC.

Prince Ali has served as President of the Jordan Football Association since 1999 where he has been focusing on youth football development and women’s football, in particular. In 2000, Prince Ali founded the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF), which includes at present 13 countries ( Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia). He serves as President of the WAFF.

Prince Ali is also Chairman of the Board of the Royal Film Commission, established in 2003 with a vision to develop an internationally competitive Jordanian film industry and invigorate Jordan’s cultural role in the region and beyond.

His Royal Highness has served as commander of His Majesty’s Special Security in the Royal Guards in 1999 until January 28, 2008, when His Majesty King Abdullah II entrusted Prince Ali with establishing and directing a National Centre for Security and Crisis Management. His Royal Highness Prince Ali holds the rank of General in the Jordanian Armed Forces.

Prince Ali was educated in at the Islamic Educational College in Jordan as well in the United Kingdom and the United States where he graduated from Salisbury School in Connecticut in 1993.

His Royal Highness also attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom and was commissioned as an officer in December of 1994 and awarded the Brunei Medal.

Prince Ali holds the Al-Nahda decoration of the first degree as well as a number of foreign decorations, including a British Knighthood, the French L√©gion d’honneur, and the Order of the Rising Sun of Japan.


The Board, whose key role is to approve AFDP Projects, currently comprises three Members additional to the Chairman who have significant football experience and business expertise. They are:

Wael
Wael Al Qadi Vice Chairman
Wael was a core team member of HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein’s successful campaign to be elected as FIFA VP in 2011. Wael is the assistant general manager at Arab Jordan Investment Bank, with over 25 years of managerial experience in banking. He attended Westminster School in London before graduating from Boston University , USA in 1991 with a BA degree major in Computer Science and minor in Business Administration. Wael completed training in investment banking at Hambros Bank London in 1991, and completed the Credit Training Program from JP Morgan Chase NY in 1995. He completed the Senior Executive Program for the Middle East from Harvard University Business School in 1991 and the Negotiation and Competitive Decision Making Program also from Harvard University Business School in 1993. Wael is passionate about football, loves to play, watch and attend football matches and tournaments, and is heavily involved In little leagues and kids’ football academies in Jordan and is a board member in Amman FC academy. He is also a member of the marketing committee at the JFA.

Louie
Louie Oumeish Board Member
Louie is a Member of the Executive Board of the Jordan Football Association and serves as Chairman of the Marketing & Communications Committee as well as a member of the Finance Committee at the JFA. Louie was part of Prince Ali’s FIFA Vice Presidency campaign in October 2010-January 2011. Louie is active in various fields ranging from Natural Resources management to food and real estate sectors. Louie holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Marquette University. Louie also serves as a member of the AFC Marketing Committee.

Hassan bin Zeid Board Member
Hassan is partner and heads the M & A division at Red Storm Capital based in London. He graduated from Valley forge Military Academy with a military science degree and also holds a B.S. from Boston University in political science. He is also Chairman of the board of Areaka Int, which is a Defense and security company which represents well known names such as Inzpire and Textronsystems as well as Cessna and Beechcraft in the MENA region. Hassan also sits on Various Boards such as MacDonald’s Jordan and Salam international transport company.

The Board meets quarterly in Amman, Jordan and on an ad hoc basis as required.

AFDP Management

The day to day operations of AFDP are run by a small management team with top level football management and football development experience in Asia and internationally.

The main role of our management team to make sure administration of AFDP is effective, efficient and in accordance with statutes as well to provide optimal service to our beneficiaries and partners.

AFDP’s HQ is in Amman, Jordan with representatives based in Switzerland and Malaysia.

Abdullah
Abdullah Suleiman Project Manager
Abdullah is Project Manager at the Office of HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein (November 2011-present). Prior to joining HRH’s Office, Abdullah was a FIFA Performance Consultant and Sports Events and Marketing Manager at Midrar Sport in Jordan. He also headed the International Relations department at the Jordan Football Association. Abdullah holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Reema
Reema Asendar Media and Communications Manager
Reema is the Media and Communications Manager at the Office of HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein (April 2011-present), she was part of Prince Ali’s FIFA Vice Presidency campaign in October 2010-January 2011. Reema holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems from the University of Jordan.
